Welcome dear international students! First of all I would like to give you all a warm welcome to Smålands nation in Uppsala. Being one of the smaller nations, it provides a nice place to meet Swedish and other international students. Our nation has approximately a thousand members, both Swedes from all over the country and other people from all around the world.

Smålands nation was founded in 1645 and its purpose was to provide for the students from the province of Småland. Today most of our members still come from Småland, but membership is of course open for everyone who is a student at Uppsala University.

Of these thousand members there are nearly 40 people in total that are working at the nation, part-time as well as full-time. The head of the nation consist of three people called 1Q, 2Q and 3Q. Each of them has their own area of responsibility. Do not worry if you feel a bit confused, a lot of people tend to do this when they first venture inside the walls of the nation. However, I am here to help you and your friends get a grip on both Smålands nation and the city of Uppsala. Being an international secretary I am delighted to introduce you to our nation and Uppsala.
